Australian artist Ian Strange has unveiled his latest architectural artwork ‘Landed‘ outside the Art Gallery of South Australia. Landed – which has seemingly fallen from the sky – is a structural recreation of the artist’s own 1920’s suburban-style home in Australia. The piece is part of the 2014 Adelaide Biennial of Australian Art and is positioned on the forecourt of the gallery. The all-matte-black half-buried house is surrounded by debris from the supposed crash and sees a direct and playful thematic reference to the the classic tale of the Wizard of Oz.
Ian Strange’s Landed is seen at the Art Gallery of South Australia as part of the 2014 Biennial of Australian Art now until May 11 2014.
